Pink Beach and the Three Long Beaches Near Padar Island

Many people know Pink Beach in Komodo National Park as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. But not everyone realizes that this pink-sand paradise is also commonly referred to as Long Beach, and that there are actually three different Pink Beach spots located near Padar Island. Known as Long Beach 1, Long Beach 2, and Long Beach 3, each offers its own unique charm but all showcase the same breathtaking blend of pink sand and the turquoise-blue waters of the Flores Sea.

The journey to Pink Beach typically begins in Labuan Bajo. From there, travelers can take a speedboat (about one hour) or join a sailing trip on a traditional phinisi boat, often packaged with other Komodo destinations. A popular route includes trekking to Padar Island at sunrise, followed by a relaxing stop at one of the Long Beaches. The dramatic hills of Padar combined with the soft pink sands of Pink Beach make for a truly unforgettable highlight of any Indonesian holiday.

Each Long Beach offers a different experience. Some are quieter and feel like hidden gems, perfect for a peaceful picnic. Others are popular for snorkeling, with vibrant coral reefs and tropical fish that can be seen even from the surface. The water is crystal-clear and the currents are generally calm, making Pink Beach safe for everyone  including families and beginner snorkelers.

For photography lovers, these three Long Beaches are an absolute dream. The contrast between pink sand, blue ocean, and green Flores hills creates an exotic tropical scene that’s hard to match. It’s no wonder Pink Beach is often featured as one of the most iconic postcards of Indonesian travel. And with its close proximity to Padar Island, Pink Beach firmly secures its place as a must-visit destination on any trip to Komodo National Park.
